Great clinician feedback! Organizations can no longer afford to just check the box and NOT invest in quality Training/Education with Clinician shortages combined with focus on Qualty and Value over Fee for Service. #physicaltherapy #occupationaltherapy #nursing #homehealth #speechtherapy #inpatientrehabhospital #skillednursingfacility

‘Were you well prepared for practice at graduation?’ 50% said yes, with 50% saying no,on my poll this weekend on the Facebook VSGD forum.Should we be concerned by the 50% that said no? Perhaps this reflects the steep learning curve, perhaps this reflects a tendency to perfectionism amongst us. It does indicate we could do more to support bridge the gap between student and practice. We should use this question in the RCVS Survey or in an annual assessment of new graduates. The GMC run an annual survey of new doctors to allow assessment of medical school outcomes. Results showed 50% said yes to being well prepared in 2009, with improvement seen since then.If I am elected to RCVS Council I will look to increase engagement and identify more outcome measures. I want to help bridge the gap. I want to see an RCVS that is by the profession and working for the profession.
